![]() Hope you will continue to follow along on the blog to see all our creations. Even though it is still fall the peppermint got us both excited about holiday baking. We both love peppermint so I was excited to make a Frosted Peppermint Brownies as my creation. Peppermint, on the other hand, is the flavor of candy canes and Christmas. Her creation this weekend, well let's just say it needs a couple more rounds before it is ready to share with the world. Powdered sugar Salted butter Heavy cream Vanilla extract Crushed candy canes Be sure to use peppermint extract, not just 'mint', wintergreen, or spearmint, which will result in these brownies tasting like toothpaste. Some of my favorites have been character inspired desserts and a peppermint cheesecake pudding bar, Peppermint Chip Milkshake, Candy Cane Marshmallows, With mixing speed on low, gradually add the powdered sugar, milk or cream, vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and salt. B's creativity has created some surprisingly good recipes, especially for a 5 year old. I love when B asks "How much time do we have let?" and then when our recipe is complete "times up, hands up." So, my compromise is that we both get to create a recipe and we pretend we are on the show. ![]() When we are debating over the next step it takes the fun out of it. We have had a couple of recipes where our visions did not align. ![]() As a blogger and perfectionist it has taken me so time to realize that I need to step back and let my daughter's creativity flow. My favorite part of these shows is that it inspires both of us to take traditional recipes and put our own spin on them. Next add in eggs one at a time, mixing after each addition to incorporate. In a medium sized bowl, add melted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar and whisk together. It has quickly become our favorite show to watch, on repeat of course. For the Brownies: Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prepare 8x8 sized baking pan with parchment paper and non-stick spray. We recently started watching cooking show reruns.
